The Best Restaurant in Chania for Fresh Seafood & Mediterranean Flavors

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
I could not fault this restaurant and experience.
We had an amazing view of the lighthouse and bay just as the sun was setting. The staff were very nice and made sure we had everything we wanted.
We had shrimps and mussels for starters and they were gorgeous. For mains we had pasta cooked in front of us in a wheel of cheese! UNREAL!!
We were absolutely stuffed but the food was that nice we had to stretch ourselves to a dessert. We had the Chocolate Soufflé and OH WOW!
Would recommend this restaurant to everyone visiting Chania

I have been here a few times and never disappoints me. The service is great. I have tried almost everything on the menu and I love it. I guess I consider myself a regular here even though I don’t live in the area so I come maybe every few months. They have a very nice selection of wines but I always drink either Tsikoudaki or ouzo. I must admit that I like their fish and seafood choices better than the meats. It’s because I am sitting next to the ocean. The location is perfect. It was a bit cooler yesterday but they use those gas heating lamps and it was great to seat outdoors. I will not say much for the fast but just put the pictures and believe me the taste was amazing…

Perfect location with views over the harbour. Food slightly more expensive than other establishments but not only are you paying for the location and view, but the food is of a greater level than you typically get in the traditional restaurants.

We ate here on our last meal in Chania and we saved the best for last! Our hotel recommended this place and we are so thankful they did. The view was amazing, we sat outside with a view of the lighthouse. The lamb was the winner for the evening, even over the wagu beef my husband ordered. The owner, George, let us know it was his mothers recipe, which was so sweet b/c it reminded my husband of his mothers lamb. Everything was so good, including the service. They had very good wine options and we highly recommend this place if you are in Chania.

Would recommend here, the food was unbelievable, staff professional and lovely wine. Probably more expensive than other places but worth it.

So as I submit this review Palazzo is 46th in chania- wow there must some very special places in chania because this is great! Located at the far end of the harbour by the water it’s an obvious tourist trap. The difference? These guys care. Happy to tell you don’t order that you will be disappointed but this instead. We had their amazing truffled beef pasta and salt crusted sea bass. Lots of theatre but equally brilliantly executed. You pay for the location (obviously) but the service is spot on the wine was fantastic- the Greeks have finally woken up! and food was worth what we paid for it and more. Unhesitatingly would I recommend this to trip advisor users. It won’t be the cheapest meal you eat in Crete but you will remember it for it’s quality not only it’s setting!

My god this place is awesome. I’ve had ribs all over the world and this place tops them all - so big they look like they’ve come from Jurassic park, fall off the bone juicy and with a great classic BBQ sauce.

We had a great lunch at the harbor. Food and service was absolutely top. Don't expect a typical tourist place, this is delicious.

Ok so when you come to the tourist bit you expect cheap food expensive bill…… NOT here my husband and I have traveled all over the Worldand eaten and drank in 7* restaurant (Dubai) We have had some amazing food and wine with the best setting and lovely service. Thank u xx.

This restaurant has the best, freshest, most innovative food in Chania Port. Not a typical tourist restaurant. Michael, our waiter (with the blue eyes) took great care, recommending dishes. We went back twice to experience the food. Highly recommend.

Very nice restaurant (amongst so many, one after the other) facing the sea. Quite touristic (but this one is a bit more classy than some). Friendly and efficient service and good food. To be recommended.

After a bad experience, a local recommended to us this place and everything was amazing! Fresh sea food (in other places was frozen), very tasty beef & amazing desserts. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall, great experience at a good price.

The place must be call haven not palazzo its so good from strat to finish..the service the foot the manners the view ...and most specifically Michael..thank you for having me.

It's not the cheapest restaurant on the harbour front, but the food was amazing and the portions very generous. The outdoor seating was comfortable, with excellent views over the harbour. We weren't staying in Chania, but after visiting it once earlier in our trip, we made a point of returning on our way to the airport.

Great restaurant in the harbour. Beautiful views. Reasonably priced food and drinks with prompt service. I particularly enjoyed the grilled squid. A special thanks to Michael for being so kind and professional. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Palazzo Al Mare is one the many harborfront restaurants, which appear largely touristy and wher you don’t expect a memorable dining experience. But Palazzo al Mare surprised us. After an uninspiring start with greek dips, we had a very solid (and inexpensive) sea bass in salt crust, and a really great Picanha steak. It was tender, with a perfect sear and medium rare inside. This was a piece of meat that you may expect in a top level US steakhouse, but that we did not at all except to be served in Chania.

The service was very good and friendly, and prices really reasonable. All in all a very pleasant dining experience.

One of the best restaurants on the venetian harbour in Chania. The food is so unique and has the most delicious flavors, the staff are helpful with recommending local wine that pairs perfectly with the food. The view is spectacular at sunset and in the evening. A must visit when in Chania!

Outstanding restaurant with impressive menu on the waterfront in the Venetian port. Manager Giorgios has a strong command of local wines paired with exquisite seafood dishes. The Lavraki baked in sea salt is to die for and comes with boiled greens..washing it down with a Grand Reserve Assyrtiko will send you to heaven if you’re lucky enough to score a front table as the sun kisses the horizon in the early evening.
